My parents told me I could be anything I wanted to be. I said, I wanna be a rockstar.” Since being diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at just six years old, Bret Michaels has done a load of work to raise awareness and funds for families, and has even established his own foundation, Life Rocks, to support the cause. “I just try to help. try to help give them some more leeway to do some great stuff.” But in 2010, Michaels confirmed that Raine had been diagnosed with borderline diabetes, telling Parents that she was quote, “scared to death of (taking) shots,” despite being exposed to needles at a young age. He said, “From the time they were three or four my little girls have tested my blood. They helped me draw my insulin in a syringe and sometimes theyll give me a shot… I said, Listen, if it ever happens to you, Ive lived a long life, and were going to live a lot longer.” These days, the father and daughter duo are taking preventative measures to keep Raine from developing type 1 diabetes. A passion for animals When it comes to her future, Raine isnt just focused on the entertainment industry. In fact, shes got another passion: animals. In May 2017, she helped raise funds for conservation efforts, which her dad shared on Facebook, writing, “I am proud of my daughter Raine for her charitable efforts last weekend by taking her allowance and using it to help fund her trip to Northern California… to help raise funds for conservation, education, and the rehabilitation of wild animals.” He revealed that his daughters dedication to
hard work doesnt stop there, adding that shes keeping up her grades while modeling and planning a veterinary internship. But it sounds like shes always been a responsible kid. “Even though Raine is only nine, shes very responsible like her mother. In fact, I think shes more mature-acting than I am.” Her dads full support While some fathers may get protective about their little girl baring (almost) all, Bret Michaels isnt one of them.
